The life of a contract

Six stages. One record. Nothing lost between them.

Most companies run contracts across email threads, shared drives, a signing tool and a spreadsheet of renewal dates. Azenye keeps a contract on one page from the first draft to the renewal notice, so the person who needs it always knows where it is and what it says.

  1. 01

    Draft

From an approved template, by answering a few questions.

  2. 02

    Review

Their paper compared to your playbook, clause by clause.

  3. 03

    Approve

Routed by value, type and department, with context.

  4. 04

    Sign

E-signatures with an audit trail, stamp duty where needed.

  5. 05

    Track

Payment terms, deliverables and SLAs, each with an owner.

  6. 06

    Renew

Notice dates surfaced months before they pass.

Turn the pages

Each page of the stack is a stage in the contract's life.

Product screens appear as exhibits, the way they would in a real agreement.

Start every contract from words Legal has already approved.

Approved templates for NDAs, MSAs, vendor agreements, offer letters and leases, with a clause library and fallback positions your team can use without asking.

  1. 2.1One current version of every template, with owner and approval date
  2. 2.2Drafting by questionnaire, so business teams never edit a blank page
  3. 2.3Preferred, fallback and walk-away positions for each key clause

Sales sends NDAs. Legal sleeps.

  1. 3.1Every clause mapped to your approved position for that contract type
  2. 3.2Missing protections, such as DPDP obligations, listed as risks

9.2Limitation of liabilityHigh risk
Each party's total liability under this Agreement shall not exceed the fees paid in the one (1) month preceding the claim twelve (12) times the fees paid in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, excluding liability for breach of confidentiality, data protection and IP indemnities.

In plain English

If CloudServe loses your customer data, the most you could recover is one month of fees. Your playbook asks for twelve.

Every desk that signs

Contracts touch every team. Each sees the part that matters to them.

Legal

Spend time on the contracts that need judgement. Standard ones run on approved templates and playbooks.

Founders

Close customers and vendors faster without taking on terms you would regret in a fundraise.

Procurement

Review vendor paper against your positions and see every renewal coming before it auto-renews.

Sales operations

Send NDAs and order forms in minutes. Non-standard asks route to Legal on their own.

Finance

Approve by value, see payment terms and liabilities across contracts and plan for renewals.

HR

Issue offer letters and employment agreements from current templates and collect e-signatures.

Built for India

Made for how Indian companies actually sign.

Stamp duty, the DPDP Act, the IT Act and rupee approval thresholds are part of the product, not workarounds.

“Is this one e-signable, or does it need a stamp paper?” Azenye asks before you send.

  1. § 1

    DPDP-aware review

Contracts that share personal data are checked for processing obligations under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

  2. § 2

    Stamp duty steps

Attach e-stamp certificates before signing opens, with the state and article recorded on the envelope.

  3. § 3

    E-sign that holds up

Electronic signatures under the Information Technology Act, 2000, with flags for documents that need physical signing.

  4. § 4

    Rupees, lakhs and GST

Values in ₹ with lakh and crore formatting, approval thresholds in rupees and GST and TDS clauses in templates.

  5. § 5

    Indian law by default

Governing law, jurisdiction and arbitration seat compared with your position, with fallbacks for foreign counterparties.

  6. § 6

    Data residency

Contracts can be stored in Indian data centres for companies that need to keep data in the country.

  • Azenye is software. It is not a law firm and does not give legal advice.
  • Flags and suggested redlines come from your own playbook. Lawyers or authorised staff review and decide.
  • Documents that cannot be signed electronically under Indian law, or need stamping, are flagged for the right process.
  • Contracts are never used to train AI models for other customers, and never sold.
  • Contracts are encrypted in transit and at rest, with access limited by role.

Questions

Questions legal teams ask us first.

Something else on your mind? Contact us and we will answer it with your contracts in front of us.

Q1Does Azenye replace our lawyers?

No. It helps them work faster. Azenye handles the drafting, comparing, routing and reminding, so your lawyers spend their time on the judgement calls only they can make.

Q2Can it read scanned contracts?

Yes. Scanned PDFs and photographed pages are read with OCR. Parties, dates, values, clauses and obligations are extracted from them like any other contract.

Q3Is e-signature valid in India?

For most contracts, yes, under the Information Technology Act, 2000. Some documents need physical signatures or stamping, such as powers of attorney, wills and property sale deeds, and Azenye flags those for the right process.

Q4Can we use our own playbook?

Yes, and you should. Azenye reviews contracts against the positions your Legal team approves, not a generic standard. You can set different playbooks for each contract type.

Q5Is our data used to train AI?

No. Your contracts are confidential and encrypted. They are never used to train AI models for other customers and never sold.

Q6How long does setup take?

Most teams are drafting from their own templates in the first week. Approval routes and e-signatures follow in the second, and importing older contracts usually takes a few days more, depending on volume.
